Nashville, TN
Nashville’s Mayor’s Office of New Americans partnered with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to establish Pathway for New Americans, a program that supports eligible residents in Nashville who want to become US citizens. Through this program, sections of five Nashville libraries and five community centers have been designated as New American Corners, spaces that have been stocked with resources to help prospective citizens prepare for the naturalization interview and test. These Corners also consist of classroom spaces where various pro-immigrant organizations teach citizenship classes. Staff members in these libraries and community centers have been trained to guide visitors interested in becoming naturalized.
