Topeka, KS
The City of Topeka is proud to welcome people from all over the world to experience what the Capital City of Kansas has to offer. From growing potatoes along the Kansas River, to trading on the Santa Fe Trail, building black communities after the Civil War and attracting immigrant labor on the railroad in the 20th century, Topeka has long been a gathering place. Through our Choose Topeka program, employers sponsor qualified workers to bring them to the Capital City.
The City of Topeka’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Office is responsible for the development, implementation and incorporation of proactive diversity, equity and inclusion strategies throughout all aspects of the city. Through this work, they have developed goals of creating a language access plan, completing an internal DEI assessment and developing a DEI strategic plan.
Additionally, the city and DEI office have participated in a number of programs and initiatives aimed at making Topeka a better place to work, live and play for all residents.
